About Us

I'm looking to see if Merida is for me. I'm in my late 30s and live a quiet life in semi-rural Georgia, USA. Various events in the US have made me wonder if the US is the place for me and my daughter. This isn't my first long distance move, national or international, but it is the first one with a my child in tow and where I don't speak the language. Still, I, Izzy, and Maya are going to explore Merida and see if this can be our new peace.

I'm going to write what I learn, good, bad and otherwise. Hopefully, someone can learn from my misteps and successes.

Six years old and cute as a button. She has all the opinions about food and fashion. She also thinks she's a fish, although she can't swim. She's not one for the heat, so we'll see how this goes.

Friend of the family who has graciously agreed to be au pair to Izzy. We'll see if getting to hang out in Mexico all summer is going to be worth her day job keeping up with our resident energizer bunny.
